Call for Application – Logistic Consultant
Background: International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) is a membership-based global organization of domestic and household workers. Our objective is to build a strong, democratic and united domestic/household workers’ global organization to protect and advance domestic/household workers’ rights everywhere. Currently, IDWF has 28 affiliates in Africa. IDWF convenes different regional events to build the collective strengths of the affiliates on organizing and advocacy. The IDWF seeks to engage a consultant to provide logistic and event management support to Africa in relation to travel, accommodation and events coordination. The consultant will work closely with the regional team on the program rundown, schedule and logistic arrangement including several areas:

Travel
To quote and coordinate the air-tickets balancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness To arrange the local transport in the destination country

Venue and Accommodation
To arrange and quote the hotel and conference packages To coordinate with the interpreters/ interpretation company To assist the on-site logistic

VISA, INSURANCE AND OTHERS
To assist the visa application and related document To arrange travel insurance To organize the solidarity or social events
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ related experience in managing logistic operations
- Fluent in English and French both written and spoken, working knowledge of Portuguese would be an asset
- Excellence on Microsoft and Google applications
- Strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills
- Capacity to perform duties diligently, particularly during stressful periods
- Able to work a flexible schedule subject to the scheduling of activities and needs of organizations e.g. during evening, weekends and public holiday
- Prior working experience in trade union, NGOs and women’s groups is an advantage
