Accounting Assistant (ACA)

International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) is a membership-based global organization of domestic and household workers. A domestic or household worker is any person engaged in domestic work within an employment relationship. Since its inception as a network in 2006 (the Federation was officially formed in 2013), the IDWF has evolved into a key advocate for the rights of domestic workers globally. We believe domestic work is work, and all domestic and household workers deserve to enjoy the same rights as all other workers.

As of October 2023, the IDWF is made up of 88 affiliates from 68 countries, serving a membership of over 690,000 domestic/household workers’ members. Most are organized in trade unions and others in associations, networks and workers’ cooperatives.

We are hiring a Accounting Assistant to fulfill the following key responsibilities and tasks:

  • To perform daily accounting operations
  • To prepare the vouchers and ledgers
  • To prepare the release of payment
  • To handle the filing of payment vouchers and documents
  • To issue the invoices and receipts as well as affiliation fees handling
  • To assist in preparing full set of monthly and annual consolidated accounts for reporting purposes
  • To assist in prepare project and organizationa’s financial reports meet with projects’ reporting requirement and deadlines


  • Support IDWF’s principles, values, vision and mission
  • Degree holder in financial accounting, business administration, economics or related discipline 
  • At least 3 years’ solid and hands-on working experience
  • Good computer skills with a strong knowledge of common bookkeeping and spreadsheet programs including google spreadsheet and Microsoft excel application
  • Familiar with the financial accounting software such as Mind Your Own Business (MYOB) is a plus
  • Aptitude for numbers, high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good command in both written and spoken English
  • Working experience in non-government organization or trade union is a plus
  • Immediately available preferred   

It is a full time position, 40 hours per week. Work remotely.
