Unions at the Grassroots – Equalizers in the Fight for Gender Equality
The often-overlooked contributions of trade unions in the fight for gender and economic justice are a critical force in compressing disparities. Uniquely positioned at the nexus of markets, politics and society, these unions, led by grassroots workers, play a distinctive role in creating and sustaining enabling conditions for women’s participation in the workforce, especially for marginalized women workers. Unions emerge as potent equalizers, serving as conduits through which workers wield power and opportunities to overcome poverty. Join trade union women and activists mobilizing collective worker action to ensure decent work for all workers.
