IDWF is happy to welcome Wendy Paula Galarza Quinonez as a replacement for Giuliana Mesina on the Executive Committee. Giuliana has had to step down from her ExCo role due to other responsibilities and FILCAMS has nominated Wendy.
Wendy was born is a citizen of Ecuador. She has a degree in business engineering. She is a Spanish native speaker but speaks also excellent Italian and has a basic knowledge of English. Wendy is currently a union officer in FILCAMS Perugia and one of her responsibilities is the “migrant work project”. Wendy has performed many jobs in her life, including: babysitting, assistance of elderly people, cleaning services and assistance in hospitals.
FILCAMS is a union which is organizing also other sectors apart from domestic workers. It has a long record of organizing, mainly migrant domestic workers and FILCAMS was part of a union alliance which has been concluding collective agreements for domestic workers since 1973.
