Details

Following the racist mob assault of two Kenyan women migrant workers in Beirut, the Lebanese government threatened to deport one of the women, Shamila, in July 2018.

In a continuous effort to pressure the government to allow Shamila to stay and work legally in the country, the International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) and the Anti-Racism Movement (ARM) have released this video with Elizabeth Tang, General Secretary of IDWF, on the case – and the broader injustices facing “undocumented” migrant workers in Lebanon.

We urge you to watch and share the video, and to join IDWF and ARM in calling for:

1/ The government to stop Shamila’s deportation and support her in resolving her legal status in Lebanon

2/ The government to stop the criminalization, arrest, and deportation of workers with irregular status in Lebanon
