Regional Coordinator for Middle East & North Africa (MENA)


(A) Roles & Responsibilities of Regional Coordinators

The Regional Coordinator (or the RC) is a member of the IDWF staff team, report directly to the General Secretary.  She is responsible for the IDWF programs of activities in the region in building the IDWF and empowering migrant domestic workers for their rights and social protection. 

Specifically they are:

  1. Development and coordination of programs of activities for domestic workers leadership, consolidation of their organizations as representative and democratic organizations;
  2. Establish the IDWF in the region with affiliates;
  3. To inform the IDWF on development of policy and legal changes in particularly those impacting domestic workers;
  4. Delegation & Representation – to represent the IDWF at meetings and other events of its affiliates, allies or partner organizations.

( B ) Skills & Qualifications

  1. Strong commitment to the protection and defense of human rights of domestic workers and other women workers;
  2. At least 2 years of experiences on programming and its implementation with grassroot workers;
  3. Proven management experience and skills in non-profit organization
  4. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills in English and Arabic
  5. Ready to travel in the region and internationally and work with people of diverse culture and backgrounds
