Regional Coordinator, Caribbean Region

(A) Roles & Responsibilities of Regional Coordinators

The Regional Coordinator (or the RC) for the Caribbean is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week. 

She is a member of the IDWF staff team, report directly to the General Secretary. 

She is responsible for the successful implementation of IDWF programs of activities in the region for the achievement of the IDWF objectives including those specified in its 5-Years Strategic Plan in the region. 

Specifically:

  1. To develop, coordinate and report on programs of activities for domestic workers leadership formation and capacity building of their organizations;
  2. Establish the IDWF in the region with affiliates;
  3. To inform the IDWF on development of policy and legal changes in particularly those impacting domestic workers;
  4. Delegation & Representation – to represent the IDWF at meetings of its affiliates, allies or partner organizations as required.

( B ) Skills & Qualifications

  1. Strong commitment to the protection and defense of domestic workers rights and gender equality;
  2. At least 2 years of experiences on working with grassroot workers organizations;  
  3. Proven management experience and skills in non-profit organization
  4. Excellent communication skills - oral and written;
  5. Ready to travel in the region and internationally and work with people of diverse culture and backgrounds
