We as IDWF survived, we have learnt to be thankful, to accept each other. We have learnt to share what we have and most of all we have learnt to appreciate life.

Global -

Myrtle Witbooi, President, IDWF

In 2020, we were caught unprepared with no warning and slowly we found ourselves.

Helpless, Homeless, Unemployed, Insecure, Hungry.

But, we as IDWF survived, we have learnt to be thankful, to accept each other. We have learnt to share what we have and most of all we have learnt to appreciate life.

We share, we fundraise and we unite.
Therefore let us go forward in this new normal world and continue to shine our light of Unity and Commitment to the workers in our Federation.

Special thanks to our staff for always be there.
Thanks to the EXCO and our members for your commitment.
Thanks to the allies, funders and so many of you.
We appreciate you all. Please keep safe.

In 2021 we will do our best.

Carmen Britez, Vice President, IDWF

I dream of a Pandemic-free 2021, where each organization of domestic workers is recognized as workers with full labor rights and free from violence.

In short I dream of a world where social justice is effective and real.

Happy Holidays.

Elizabeth Tang, General Secretary

The 2020 has brought to the domestic workers and the IDWF unprecedented challenges.  The pandemic and its related measures have exposed and deepened our vulnerabilities.

We created the Solidarity Fund for rapid responses, something we had not done before but it was necessary to build the resilience of our movement.

On the other hand, we kept business as usual whenever possible and continued to build our capacities. Now as we are wrapping up to close the year, we see how we have grown and made new grounds – both for the organization and domestic workers rights.
