USA: Domestic Workers Win Recognition - NDWA won regional award at the Classy Awards!‏

The National Domestic Workers Alliance won the Classy Award in the Western Region, in the Human Rights Category. The Classy Awards is the largest philanthropic awards ceremony in the country. Being chosen as a CLASSY Award Regional Winner is a testament to the courage and determination of the thousands of everyday heroines who make up NDWA.

The National Domestic Workers Alliance won the Classy Award in the Western Region, in the Human Rights Category. The Classy Awards is the largest philanthropic awards ceremony in the country. Being chosen as a CLASSY Award Regional Winner is a testament to the courage and determination of the thousands of everyday heroines who make up NDWA.

There is 2.5 million domestic workers in the USA. Yet, the labour laws excludes domestic workers the rights as workers, including minimum wage, overtime payment etc. Domestic workers have stood up and won crucial labor protections like the New York Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and the International Labor Organization Convention on Domestic Work.

NDWA has achieved much more in these short 5 years than anyone could have imagined, including an unprecedented level of recognition recently by
