FADWU research report reveals government monitoring on private employment agencies is still lacking.

Hong Kong -

The Hong Kong Federation of Asian Domestic Workers Unions (FADWU) will have the launch of Fit for Purpose? a new research report evaluating the effectiveness of the Hong Kong government’s Code of Practice for Employment Agencies (CoP). The research is based on qualitative interviews conducted with 105 Filipino and Indonesian domestic workers between April and June 2021. The report was produced by the Hong Kong Federation of Asian Domestic Workers Unions (FADWU) in collaboration with the Union of United Domestic Workers (UUDW). The report is a follow-up to Agents of Change? published by FADWU in 2018, and follows a similar methodology.

The launch will be conducted mainly in English with simultaneous interpretation in Thai, Bhs Indonesia, Nepali and Cantonese.
