LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN -

The secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Confederation of Domestic Workers (CONLACTRAHO) has the honor to invite to participate in the “6th Congress and Regional Seminar”, which will be carried out from the 1 to the 5 of May 2012 in Mexico.

Objectives of the Congress/Seminar

The organizations of domestic workers in Latin America and the Caribbean have advanced significantly in the last years in the visibility and vindication of the labor rights of the workers, without stopping mentioning the approval of Convention 189 and Recommendation 201. Our organization remains effective thanks to the efforts and commitments of its leaders in each country, nevertheless still lacks much to do in the countries to comply with the rights for the workers and even more in the countries where these rights are not regulated, as well as to promote organizations for domestic workers' unions in the countries where these still do not exist and to strengthen those which require it.

For that reason we summon to work together during the days proposed for the accomplishment of the 6th CONLACTRAHO Congress and Regional Seminar to construct a common agenda and strategy to achieve the Ratification of Convention 189 and Recommendation 201.
