
Italy: Negotiations continue for the renewal of the national domestic work contract
Negotiations between employers and social representatives on the National Contract for Domestic Work, which has been expired since 2016, will continue on Feb 6.

The employer associations (Domina, Finaldo - FederColf) and the social partners (Filcams Cgil - Fisascat - UilTucs) will have a negotiation meeting on the renewal of the National Contract for Domestic Work which has been expired in the end of 2016.
Domestic workers are a sector of more than two million workers and among them, there are 88% of women and 71% of migrants.
Domina, Finaldo - FederColf agreed to organize training courses for family carers, carers and babysitters. They also agreed to increase the contractual assistance contribution from 3 to 6 cents per hour and increase paid training hours from 40 to 64.
The discussion will include the following items:
- A new professional figure, the educator, who is employed in rehabilitation projects in the case of mental disabilities and learning disabilities, will become part of the classification.
- New for babysitters: The child will be considered not self-sufficient until the age of sixth, with relative level pay and allowance for the worker.
- Compensation also for those who are taking care for two people who are not self-sufficient.
- The possibility of employing workers hired for days off will also be introduced for the afternoon break-off hours of the job owner.
The meeting has been scheduled on February 6 2020.
