Yuli said she's been getting better. She thanked everyone for supporting her and she's been very touched by a lot of encouraging  words and messages. She tearfully described her mistreatment inside the CIC detention center. She also said that she was strip-searched by a male doctor during her detainment. That was an insult to her religion, Islam and it was unacceptable. She hoped people will also be supporting her friends inside the CIC like those from the Philippines, Pakistan, and Indonesia because they have also been mistreated and no one knew.

Elizabeth shared that not only in Hong Kong, domestic workers around the world, mostly women, have been long ignored and not treated as "workers".  Most of them have no labour rights or human rights protection at all.

"There is so much we have to learn from Yuli.  She has a clear and impassioned longing for fairness that makes her a courageous person who  has great strength to keep writing and speaking up.  I hope everyone of us, wherever you are from, can stand together. In this way we will be stronger and become more powerful!"
