The fund per affiliate is small, ranging from $5,000 to 10,000, yet for many, it is all they have received to cop with the pandemic challenges.

Details

A USD 2 million Solidarity Fund was created in May to support our affiliates to implement rapid responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Until the end of the year, over 1 million has been collected, much of it are from existing project funds re-directed, others from specific donations of funders and individuals.

As of December 15, USD 786,600 have been sent off to 71 affiliates and several domestic workers organizations enabling them to

•    Provide food and personal protective products for some 20,000 domestic workers
•    Maintain union offices in operation
•    Communicate with their members digitally and physically whenever possible
•    Conduct advocacy for inclusion of domestic workers in government relief programs

The fund per affiliate is small, ranging from $5,000 to 10,000, yet for many, it is all they have received to cop with the pandemic challenges.
