October 29 Global Day of Action:
Invest in Care, Now!
The 70 million domestic workers make up 23% of the global care workforce. We do both direct (e.g. feeding a baby) and indirect care (cleaning and cooking) for families.
The pandemic has underlined the centrality of health and care to our well-being and existence.
On 29 October, workers, whether working in hospitals, hospices, schools, care homes, private homes or as domestic workers, whether in the public or private sector will take action for decent working conditions and fair pay, that reflect their enormous contributions to our societies.
