History
The consultation meeting on “Decent work for domestic worker” among ILO and the stakeholders in Thailand namely Ministry of Labour, employer, domestic worker and civil social organization, which took place on August and September 2009 has resulted in the forming of “ Working team for decent work for domestic worker” .
The working team consisted of Foundation for Child Development, State Enterprise Relation Confederation, Labour Congress of Thailand, Thailand Trade Union Confederation, MAP, MKUL and FTUB.
Later on, in November 2009, the training on Domestic workers’ right was organized with the support from ILO and Homenet Thailand. Owing to the realization of their own rights; the participants of the training who are domestic workers collected to gather and form “Domestic Workers’ Network in Thailand.
Their main campaigns at the moment are to get the government to pass an act which to improve Domestic Worker conditions. The domestic workers network and HomeNet Thailand run training programs
