USA -

It’s been a big month for domestic workers all over the country in the United States -- will you help make it even bigger?

Today, domestic workers from all over Illinois are heading to Springfield for a lobby day in support of the Illinois Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and they need our support.

And don’t worry if you don’t live in Illinois, your support counts no matter where you’re from!

Momentum for domestic workers’ dignity, respect and labor protections is building on the east coast too! Last Wednesday, the Somerville City Council passed a resolution supporting the Massachusetts Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. They’re the second city to pass a resolution in favor of the Bill this month!

In Connecticut last Thursday, the State Assembly held it’s first committee hearing on the Connecticut Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. The hearing highlighted the urgent need for increased protections for domestic workers in Connecticut and garnered national press.

Yesterday, the Bill was voted out of committee. Stay tuned to find out how you can help support dignity, respect and labor protections for the 40,000 domestic workers in Connecticut!

Thank you for all that you do to build momentum for our growing domestic workers movement!
