IDWF Courtesy Call to the Department of Labor and Employment, the Philippines on May 16, 2016.

The delegation led by Elizabeth Tang, the General Secretary discussed with the Under Secretary, Ciriaco Lagunzad on how to strengthen protection of rights and welfare of the Filipino domestic workers working aboard, such as Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia and those in the Arabic and Gulf countries through the Post Arrival Orientation Seminar(PAOS).

It was agreed that the effectiveness would be enhanced through collaboration with the IDWF to include migrant domestic workers in the delivery. Furthermore, the Under Secretary agreed to recommend the IDWF to participate at the governmental meetings concerning Filipino migrant domestic workers.

The members of the IDWF delegation were: Fish Ip, the Regional Coordinator for Asia, Rey Rasing, Project Coordinator and members of its affiliates in Hong Kong (FADWU-PLU) and the Philippines (UNITED).
