GUINEA -

During the International Women's Day celebration held in the People's Palace in Conakry, the domestic workers union of Guinea (SYNTRAD) showed its existance by a strong mobilization with songs, dance and drama.

It is important to know that several interwiews on TV and radio were given by the domestic workers, the SYNTRAD Secretary General and some important personalities to advocate for the Convention C189 and its ratification in 2012.

The transitional parliamentary President, in her interview invited all attendees to recognise the role of the domestic workers and wished strongly to see the C189 to be ratified in 2012.

The Minister of Social Affairs expressed his gratitude to the Secretary General of SYNTRAD Ms Doukouré Asmaou Bah who is doing all her best to promote the domestic workers protection and also wishes to see the C189 ratified as soon as possible.
