IDWF, with the support from FES-Tanzania, organized a lobbying meeting to Jenista Joakim Mhagama, the Minister of State (Policy, Parliamentary affairs, Employment, Youth and Disabled) on Feb 5 for CHODAWU and the domestic workers leaders in Dodoma city where the Parliament session was taking place.

TANZANIA -

IDWF, with the support from FES-Tanzania, organized a lobbying meeting to Jenista Joakim Mhagama, the Minister of State (Policy, Parliamentary affairs, Employment, Youth and Disabled) on Feb 5 for CHODAWU and the domestic workers leaders in Dodoma city where the Parliament session was taking place.

The aims of this meeting were as follows:

2016-2-5 Tanzania: IDWF organized a lobbying meeting to the Minister of State

1/ To introduce ourselves and the roles we are playing to protect Domestic workers in Tanzania.

2/ To brief her about the situation of domestic workers in Tanzania - presented by Ms. Zanini, a domestic worker and Said Wamba, the GS of CHODAWU.

3/ To brief her on the activities and measures which has been taken by CHODAWU and domestic workers, tripartite bodies as well as the government.

4/ To lobby and ask her to speedy the ratification of ILO C189 which was expressed by domestic workers.
