Asia Program Officer


This position (Program Officer or PO)  is based in the country where she/he resides, with travels to countries in the region. 

Residing in Hong Kong where the IDWF Secretariat is located would be an advantage.

Its key responsibilities are

  • To assist IDWF affiliates to develop and implement projects and other  programs of activities in mobilizing, organizing and recruitment of members to strengthen their membership and advocacy capacities
  • PO works closely with the Regional Coordinator of the region and report directly to her.  

Skills and Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of domestic workers’ issues grounded in the context
  • Support and be committed to workers and women rights
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in workers’ education and training, including the production of training materials
  • Knowledge of practical skills on project (including financial) management and reporting on timely manner
  • Good command of oral and written English and one Asian language
  • Ability and desire to travel, able to work independently and take initiative
  • At least 3 years relevant working experience, ideally, in working directly with workers unions at national or international level

Working hours

  • 40 hours per week, able to work a flexible schedule, e.g. during evening, weekends and public holiday, subject to the scheduling of activities and needs of organizations.
