Indonesia Standard Contracts
Jala PRT drafted the Standard Contract in 2003 together with Tunas Mulia Domestic Workers Union, the first union in Indonesia, at domestic workers school. Within the first five years in 2004-08, they successfully got 402 employers in Yogyakarta used this Standard Contract to sign with their domestic workers.
The current version of Standard Contract is a revised one. It was reviewed with Sapulidi Domestic Workers Union in Jakarta in Feb 2016. Two focus group discussions were conducted in Nov 2015 and Feb 2016 to discuss newly emerged cases and revised the Standard Contract.
Jala PRT and its Domestic Workers Unions affiliates share the Standard Contract as a best practice in social dialogues where government and parliament members are invited. The employers and domestic workers give testimony about the benefit using this written contract.
The Standard Contract is disseminated in Greater Jakarta in domestic workers organizations and in social media.
