THAILAND -

On September 31 to August 3 2016, a leader of Network of Domestic Workers in Thailand (NDWT), attended “Planning for Empowerment and Change” Workshop organized by IDWF and International Labour Organization (ILO) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

She had applied knowledge gained from the workshop to plan the “Fair Employment Contracts for Domestic Workers” campaign in Thailand. She and  her team had shared knowledge to the members and their employers regarding the importance of having employment contract.

After 3 months, there are 13 employers who are willing to do the contracts. Even though, the numbers are still not high. It was a good start. The NDWT is continuously working on the project in order to improve the quality of life for domestic workers in Thailand.
