Parliamentary Discussion on Nepalese Law on Domestic Work and ILO Convention 189 Held in Kathmandu
Interaction Seminar with Parliamentarians on Nepalese Law on Domestic Work and ILO Convention 189 held on 2014 December 8 in Kathmandu Nepal by Swatantrata Abhiyan Nepal.
22 parliamentarians from various parliamentary committee mainly development committee, international relation and labor committee, women and children committee and Bills Committee attended the program.
The program concluded that Nepal shall ratify ILO convention 189, the civil code Bill 2071 Section 664 and 665 provision shall be amended, New Labor Code shall include special Section on Domestic Work.
Swatantrata Abhiyan is asked to share a Briefing Paper to all parliament members, political parties and to submit an official request to relevant ministry and parliament committee to consider officially about the conclusions of the interaction.
